Reconstruction of piecewise constant objects in microwave imaging in a 2D-TE configuration

چکیده
In this paper we propose a stochastic algorithm applied to an electromagnetic inverse scattering problem. The objective is to characterize an unknown object from measurements of the scattered fields at different frequencies and for several illuminations. This inverse problem is known to be nonlinear and ill-posed. It then needs to be regularized by introducing prior information. The particular prior information we account for is that the object is composed of a finite known number of different materials distributed in compact regions. The algorithm is applied to the inversion of experimental data collected at the Institut Fresnel (Marseille) and has already provided satisfactory results in a 2D-TM configuration. Herein, the goal is to test the same kind of method in a 2D-TE configuration.

متن کاملQuantitative Microwave Imaging Based on a Huber regularization
Reconstruction of inhomogeneous dielectric objects from microwave scattering by means of quantitative microwave tomography is a nonlinear, ill-posed inverse problem. In this paper, we employ the Huber function as a robust regularization approach for this challenging problem. The resulting reconstructions both in 2D and 3D from sparse data points for piecewise constant objects are encouraging. T...
متن کاملA New Approach for Quantitative Evaluation of Reconstruction Algorithms in SPECT
ABTRACT Background: In nuclear medicine, phantoms are mainly used to evaluate the overall performance of the imaging systems and practically there is no phantom exclusively designed for the evaluation of the software performance. In this study the Hoffman brain phantom was used for quantitative evaluation of reconstruction techniques. The phantom is modified to acquire t...
متن کاملIterative Nonlinear Reconstruction of Isotropic and Anisotropic 2d Objects Using Te and Tm Polarizations
The characterization of buried or non-buried objects generally constitutes an increasingly wide area of research with various applications. In this paper, we present a 2D microwave imaging algorithm taking into account both 2D-TM and 2D-TE polarization configurations. The development of a forward scattering algorithm is first described. Second, the inverse problem is obtained by minimizing a co...
متن کاملA Method for 3D Reconstruction of ISAR Images Using Impulse-Radio UWB
Recently, the use of Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology has been increasing. This technology makes it possible to obtain high-resolution images of distant objects using microwave signals. A 2D ISAR algorithm was developed for defense and tomography and is used in medical approach. In this paper, the tomography algorithm is studied, using microwave similar to those used in reflection tomography. T...
